Following a period of Early Access availability, developer StelloHexis launched their 8-bit inspired top-down adventure RPG Knights of Tartarus on Steam just over a month ago to a positive reception.

Knights of Tartarus has a heavy Legend of Zelda on the NES vibe with its visual style and its screen-by-screen open-world design but differentiates itself with turn-based combat and really unique crafting and a magic system. You can see it all in action in the following trailer for Knights of Tartarus.

You’ll head into the underworld to battle a legendary order of knights. We’re not sure what they’re up to, but it’s going to destroy the world.

Along the way, you’ll meet a variety of magical monsters that you can defeat to learn new spells, gather gold, and collect crafting resources.

As this is a JRPG, you can also level up and learn new skills, upgrade previous ones, and unlock a variety of new perks.
