Action RPG ‘Dauntless’ coming to consoles and mobile

2 minutes read

“Dauntless” has managed to carve a niche for itself in the action role-playing game space. For the uninitiated, the game is comparable to Monster Hunter, but with a more cartoonish look and several quality-of-life improvements.

It still requires players to hunt enormous beasts called Behemoths. They can upgrade their gear and forge better ones using the resources they find. The difference between “Monster Hunter” and “Dauntless” is the free-to-play aspect and the constantly expanding array of content. Now, gamers on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will have a chance to experience the fun as the title is set to come out on consoles April 2019. A Nintendo Switch and the mobile version is coming later in the year.

In addition, Phoenix Labs is introducing One Dauntless, a platform that lets gamers across multiple systems play together. If players bought cosmetics for the PS4 game, they can access that same gear on the mobile version of the game. In addition, one person on the Switch can ideally play with someone on Xbox One.

Lastly, “Dauntless” fans can expect a slew of new updates including the Frostfall pack that will reshape the Shattered Isles. They’ll also face a new Behemoth called Valomyr. Phoenix Labs is offering a $10 Hunt Pass that offers new challenges and big rewards. Interestingly enough, it’ll appear on Epic Games new store platform. Again, most of the obtained gear is cosmetic.
